Blog 6, Chapter 9:

In Chapter 9, my predictions were proved true, it's actually really sad how little people showed up at Gatsby's funeral. Nick invites many people to the funeral, but only Nick himself, Owl Eyes, servants, and Gatsby's father attend. Nick even invites Daisy and Tom, but both refuse and leave New York; this just proves how awful both of them are. Daisy and Tom are just low people who hide behind their money and sad relationship. I don't think Daisy ever deserved Gatsby, because he was so sweet to her, and in the end, she never did anything in return. It's also pretty sad how Gatsby's father came to the funeral, and his father didn't even know him anymore. Overall, the funeral proved that people only used Gatsby. They used him for his parties, social status, and his money. Not even Gatsby's "trusted business partners" attended the party.
I'm not a fan of the end of this book, but I guess there was no other way to bring an end to the plot, because the whole story revolved around Gatsby. But, overall, this has been one of my all time favorite books, I liked it a lot more than I expected. I also like the assignments/ blog posts that we had to make. I had a very good experience with The Great Gatsby book.
Blog 5, Chapter 8:

The main event in Chapter 8, is obviously Gatsby's death. Although it was a little but confusing to understand, Gatsby's death was really shocking. Personally, I don't think Gatsby deserved it at all. Although he was not completely innocent in the death of Myrtle, he was definitely not the one who deserved to die. It was also shocking that Myrtle's husband shot Gatsby, because out of anyone in the book, her husband seemed to be most grounded. Over all, this was a very shocking end to the book, I didn't like it very much. I would've liked to see Gatsby end up with Daisy, because he seemed pretty depressed without her and dedicated his life to trying to win her over. I predict that in Chapter 9, we will see Gatsby's funeral, which will prove who actually cared for him unconditionally which unfortunately, I don't think will be many people.

Blog 4, Chapter 7:
In Chapter 7, the biggest dilemma that presents itself, is the competition between Gatsby and Tom. As Gatsby and Tom spend more and more time together, many arguments arise. In Chapter 7, they fight over Gatsby's true background and whether he went to Oxford or not. Gatsby and Tom's competition for Daisy also becomes more open as tension rises. Gatsby is clearly in love with Daisy and tries to win her over as Tom tries to keep her back. Tom also becomes pretty aggressive as his situations in life seem to get worsen in every aspect. For example, he learns that his mistress is planning on leaving and going west with her husband, and Tom will be left with his wife yet again. Tom's love life is spiraling down as Gatsbys' seems to possibly be improving with Daisy. I predict that in the near future, Daisy will leave Tom finally, and be with Gatsby. I also predict that things will end very badly for Tom as he starts to lose everything that was once his. I am excited to read the ending of this book!
